Today at 11:30 AM, the National Democratic Party of Tibet (NDPT), led by President Mr. Gendun Tsephel, along with Vice President Mr. Tsering Namgyal and General Secretary Mr. Kalsang Phuntsok, organized a powerful academic and political exposure visit for postgraduate Geography students and professors from CSRD, JNU, New Delhi to key Tibetan institutions in Dharamshala.
At the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, Deputy Speaker Ms. Dolma Tsering welcomed the students and emphasized the historic and crucial role of India in supporting the Tibetan people and sustaining Tibetan democracy in exile. This was followed by an address from Hon. Geshe Atung Rinchen Gyaltsen, who spoke on Tibetan democracy in exile, Indo-Tibetan relations, and the harsh realities inside occupied Tibet.
The visit continued to the Tibetan Library, Tibet Museum, and the Dalai Lama Temple. At the Dalai Lama Temple During the visit, Mr. Thunpten Nyandak spoke powerfully about self-immolations in Tibet, highlighting the extreme sacrifices Tibetans have made in their struggle for freedom and human rights.
NDPT President Mr. Gendun Tsephel shared his personal journey from Tibet, exposed the grave reality of Tibetan children being forcibly taken to colonial boarding schools, and urged the students and professors to stand in solidarity with Tibet, raise awareness, and amplify Tibet’s voice globally.
